We burn the pages, the blood for the woods, It rips at the lungs of the lives where they stood As claimers we’re steady we ready the wind to Come out and in come out and in come out and in come out and in * The moon and the stars they know where we are The mountains and trees they know where we’ll be The wind and the waves make way for the maze And the sun in the sky she’s giving us time I breathe for the air I inhale I sleep for the sake of this bed of soil frail Facing the west where the steady sun sets Come out again, come out again, come out again, come out again * * The moon and the stars they know where we are (It’s in our hands) The mountains and trees they know where we’ll be (Watering sinking sands) The wind and the waves make way for the maze (And we’re making plans) And the sun in the sky she’s giving us time (And we depend on the man)

I've Got You 02:27
Dewy eyes and dragonflies Some say someone’s gonna get the boot I see who they want, you want it Some say someone… Drunken days and younger ways Some say someone’s got a gun to shoot I see who they got, you got it Some say someone’s got another one. Banks are breaking, waters waking What’s it take to make it through? I’ve got you. Blackened hands and sinking sands Some say someone’s got a ransom note I see who I want, you want it Some say someone, Sinking ships and liquored lips Some say someone’s gonna get a boat I see who they rocked, you rocked it Some say someone’s got another one Banks are breaking, waters waking What’s it take to make it through? I’ve got you. Dewy eyes that kiss like knives Some say someone’s gonna get your throat I see you, my prey, you’re praying Some say some say some Say Banks are breaking, waters waking What’s it take to make it through? I’ve got Banks are breaking, waters waking What’s it take to make it through? I’ve got you.

Three sheets to the wind The ropes of my ship loose and weakened We’re drowning in waves just for the days of the weekend Oh, the weekend Fire and rain burn the remains which impend Guilt ridden shame should cause a refrain but we can’t we can’t we can’t Oohhh, Please pardon the weeds in my garden Oohhh, While I call shotgun on the wagon Three sheets to the wind It rips at my skin boiling blood from within The wagon wheels spin steady and stronger than the wind Oohhh, Please pardon the weeds in my garden Oohhh, While I call shotgun on the wagon Colour in the lines This life is so divine I think I’ve done my time Burning woods and feeding pine Burn up these sheets drenched in my sweat and filled with regret

Jailbird 04:54
sorry we swear in this one. Hot drinks and cold mornings were meant for each other Libraries and lattes go hand in hand And in mine I've got nothing In my mind there is much What’s the rush And the pages I fold and tattoo and abuse Wear evidence of caffeinated lullabies I dream of the departure This spine has had its torture From this sad excuse for furniture Oooh, I'm a jailbird These hours must be days long every day a wasted crime These crimson fingers wasted on somebody else’s dime And still I stay at wooden tables And still I pray I'll come out soon Out of this womb But all these robots and machines compete for numbers on a page Their wires never tire though their oil needs a change My question that remains is What's the lesson to be gained From paying for fancy fucked up names Oooh, I'm a lifer Who can't decipher Between the bars Bail me out

The Burial 06:05
Wrung around the rose Tongue tipped towards the tomb Bury the burdens I carry and I Marry the womb Oh I bury the burdens I carry still I Stare at the moon I’m singing along To a song as meditation But fretting the chance of it Gives my chest palpitations I bury the burdens I carry and I Married the womb Oh I bury the burdens I carry still I Stare at the moon Laugh to pop the pill Scream to start the spill Swallow the change for tomorrow Follow with chills Oh I swallow the bullet to follow the moon And borrow the till Try not to weep like willows I’m breathing with laboured bellows, I’m scared Holding my hands for the first time Cause I hope it’s not time So I bury the burdens I carry and I Marry the womb Oh I bury the burdens I carry still I Stare at the moon Bury the burdens I carry and I Marry the womb Oh I bury the burdens I carry still I Stare at the moon

Where’re you headed? Where’s your head at? Where are you going? What are you doing? What makes you think you can’t spare some time for a change? Your blue tattered shoes whisper melodies as they’re shuffling Through the bustling corridors of this piece of moving corrugated steel Slowly lacking appeal There’s a rip in the knee of your high-waisted jeans But your hands are too cold to tie up the seams Oh you’re high and you’re wasted and you’re permanently pasted With regretful images from your teenage years Oh I’m a southbound transforming northbound And I admit I make unnerving sounds Oh I’m an eastbound slowly headed westbound And I regret I don’t want to turn around And I see people, people going places Making plans, holding hands as they’re on their way home But you’re homeless or going home to disjointed lullabies causing your demise Maybe you’re wiser than I’ll ever be You’re not putting stock into everyday machinery Where’re you headed? Where’s your head at? Where are you going? What are you doing? What makes you think you can spare some time from time to time? What is time, and who needs time all the time? And I try to repress all the doubts that I had about

Collided 04:04
We collided ‘f only I’d seen you comin’ I decided I can’t hold on anymore In the stiff, stale, sterilized bed I finger the colourful evidence That my forehead reveals Alas I recall every ill-fated detail Again and again Before the sun bowed low to the night And kissed the wheat waving goodnight sleep tight I stopped at the crossroad The 21 vacant or at least I thought so Until we collided The night drives through my brain And it’s driving me insane We collided ‘f only I’d seen you coming I decided I can’t hold on anymore Without putting my everything And more, I decided this the night That we collided As the drugs drip down through my skin And the doctors and nurses go out and come in again My bruised brain can’t decide Between luck and misfortune, the mortal and divine That caused our collide The night drives through my brain And it’s driving me insane We collided ‘f only I’d seen you coming I decided I can’t hold on anymore Without putting my everything And more, I decided this the night That we collided Whether or not you forgive me Whether or not He forgives me Whether or not the fault lies in my hands This burden stays We collided ‘f only I’d seen you coming I decided I can’t hold on anymore Without putting my everything And more, I decided this in the ambulance in bandages the night That we collided

This is where I feel at home Hush now darling, I have not slept, I have not slept In days, In days Hush now honey, We must not wake the sleeping ones And we must not sleep in waking hours, In waking hours, in waking hours This is where I feel at home Come now honey, We’ll row across the lake at dawn Where the water has thawed, Where the water has thawed Come now honey, The weeping willow’s days are done And we will sail away across the sun, Across the sun, across the sun This is where I feel at home The birds in the trees And the sun through the leaves Will smile as they see us running And the rivers and stones Counting days as we’ve grown Will smile as they see us running home Oh, home The birds in the trees And the sun through the leaves Will smile as they see us running And the rivers and stones Counting days as we’ve grown Will smile as they see us running home Oh, home Oh this is where I feel, This is where I feel at home

I believe in the universe although it hurts and I’ll regret every single day I spend away Tell me stories of galaxies and birds and bees and I’ll remember them fondly Tell me that you need me while Wide awake and dreaming Tell me that your love will bring me fireflies at night Tell me you won’t leave and Say it like you mean it Tell me that your love will bring you home for the weekend So hold my hand and stay a while and make me smile cause You and I are perfectly one of a kind And as we lay here intertwined like ivy vines I Promise I’ll read you poetry about the sea Tell me that you need me while Wide awake and dreaming Tell me that your love will bring me fireflies at night Tell me you won’t leave and Say it like you mean it Tell me that your love will bring you home for the weekend And I’ll believe in the universe although it hurts

What would it mean to you if I spoke all about the lesser ones And what would you say if I told you they were lesser I’m afraid of many things but no other's as frightening as you You’re a loose set of strings; you’re a packet of cigarettes I’m wrung tight like a string on a kite flying higher than the drag Let’s get higher Let’s let desire Come close Come closer Come close Come closer I know what I know now what more’s there to know don’t you know Cause I don’t know Where I put my knowledge of people like you, of the people who steal second chances like money is just paper Paper Paper rips so easily I rip so easily we slip so easily we make up easily let’s get high easily let’s desire easily but I’m not so easily able to let go To let go Of my cigarette pack As the drag pulls me back I can’t come Closer One thing’s certain curtains don’t hide what’s on the other side So can’t I see you like I think I do cause I want to Can’t I see Can’t I see Let’s see where the smoke blows

about

Out and In was primarily recorded at Liv and Anita's family cottage. Capturing the warmth and coziness of the log cabin on Colpoys Bay was an essential element to the production of this album.
